C. I. Scofield

Cyrus Scofield (1843-1921) was an American theologian known for popularizing futurism and dispensationalism among fundamentalist Christians. After a tumultuous life including Civil War service, legal and political endeavors, and personal challenges, Scofield found redemption in evangelical Christianity and went on to become a fundamentalist leader and influential writer of the Scofield Reference Bible, advancing dispensational premillennialism.
