The Anchor Gospel Ministry exists to proclaim the unchanging truth of God’s Word. We believe the Bible is the inspired and inerrant Word of God, salvation is by grace alone through faith alone in Christ alone, and Jesus Christ is our sure and steadfast hope. We affirm a clear biblical distinction between Israel and the Church and look forward to the imminent return of Christ.
The Scriptures
We believe the Holy Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments are the verbally inspired, inerrant Word of God, infallible in all they affirm and the final authority for faith and practice. The Bible is to be interpreted using a literal, grammatical, historical method, recognising God’s orderly administration of His purposes through distinct dispensations, without allegorising prophetic or covenantal promises.
God
We believe in one true and living God, eternally existing in three Persons—Father, Son, and Holy Spirit—equal in essence, power, and glory. God is sovereign, holy, immutable, and faithful in the fulfilment of His eternal purposes.
Jesus Christ
We believe Jesus Christ is the eternal Son of God who became man without ceasing to be God. He was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the virgin Mary, lived a sinless life, and died a substitutionary and propitiatory sacrifice for sin. He rose bodily from the dead, ascended into heaven, and now ministers as our High Priest and Advocate.
The Holy Spirit
We believe the Holy Spirit is a divine Person who convicts the world of sin, regenerates those who believe, permanently indwells every believer at salvation, baptises believers into the Body of Christ, and empowers them for godly living and service.
Humanity and Sin
We believe humanity was created in the image of God but fell through Adam’s disobedience, resulting in spiritual death. All people are sinners by nature and by choice and are under God’s righteous judgment apart from His grace.
Salvation
We believe salvation is by grace alone through faith alone in Christ alone, apart from works. Salvation is the work of God, resulting in justification, regeneration, and eternal security for every believer.
Dispensations
We believe God has administered His rule over humanity through distinct dispensations, each revealing human responsibility, human failure, and God’s faithfulness. While dispensations differ in stewardship and testing, salvation has always been by grace through faith.
Israel and the Church
We believe Israel and the Church are distinct in origin, purpose, and destiny. Israel is God’s earthly people, with unconditional covenants that will be fulfilled literally and nationally. The Church is a heavenly people, a mystery not revealed in the Old Testament, formed at Pentecost and completed at the Rapture. The Church does not replace Israel nor inherit Israel’s covenant promises.
The Church
We believe the Church is the Body and Bride of Christ, composed of all believers of the present age, united by the baptism of the Holy Spirit. The local church exists for worship, teaching, fellowship, evangelism, and the observance of baptism and the Lord’s Supper.
The Future
We believe in the imminent, pre-tribulational Rapture of the Church, followed by a seven-year Tribulation, the bodily return of Christ to earth, and His literal, millennial reign on David’s throne. Israel will be restored nationally, and Christ will reign in righteousness.
The Eternal State
We believe in the bodily resurrection of all people: believers to eternal life and unbelievers to eternal conscious punishment. The redeemed will dwell forever with God in the new heavens and new earth.
The Christian Life
We believe believers are called to live lives of holiness, devotion, and obedience, walking by the Spirit and eagerly awaiting the return of Christ. The Christian life is lived in response to God’s grace, not as a means of salvation.
Our Vision
Anchored in Christ. Proclaiming His Gospel
Our vision is to see believers grounded in sound doctrine, confident in God’s promises, and steadfast in hope as we await the return of Jesus Christ.
We seek to:
- Teach the Bible clearly, faithfully, and verse by verse.
- Uphold a literal, grammatical, historical understanding of Scripture.
- Equip believers to discern truth in a confused world.
- Proclaim the Gospel with clarity and compassion.
- Encourage godly living rooted in grace, not legalism.
- Maintain a biblical hope centred on Christ’s return and God’s future plan.
We desire to be a ministry that points people to Christ as the only secure anchor for the soul.
Statement on Biblical Hermeneutics
How We Interpret the Bible
The Anchor Gospel Ministry is committed to a literal, grammatical, historical interpretation of Scripture.
We believe:
- Words mean what they say in their normal usage
- Grammar and historical context matter
- Scripture interprets Scripture
- Prophecy should be understood literally unless clearly stated otherwise
- God’s promises are not to be spiritualised or redefined
We reject allegorical and replacement interpretations that alter the plain meaning of the text, particularly where God has made covenantal and prophetic promises.
This method of interpretation honours:
- The authority of Scripture
- The faithfulness of God
- The clarity of God’s revelation
Because God speaks truthfully and consistently, His Word can be trusted exactly as written.
What We Are Not: Clarifying Our Position
The Anchor Gospel Ministry believes clarity guards both truth and unity. The following statements explain what we do not teach or represent.
We Are Not a Replacement Theology Ministry
We do not believe the Church has replaced Israel. God’s promises to Israel remain valid and will be fulfilled literally and nationally. The Church does not inherit Israel’s covenants.
We Are Not Teaching Multiple Ways of Salvation
We do not believe people are saved by different means in different ages. Salvation has always been by grace through faith, based on the work of Christ alone.
We Are Not Allegorising Scripture
We do not spiritualise or redefine biblical promises to fit theological systems. We interpret Scripture using a literal, grammatical, historical method, allowing figures of speech where the text clearly demands it.
We Are Not Date-Setters or Sensationalists
We do not predict dates for Christ’s return or engage in speculative prophecy. We affirm Christ’s return is imminent and focus on readiness, holiness, and faithfulness rather than sensationalism.
We Are Not Politically Aligned
We do not promote political movements or national agendas. Our concern for Israel is biblical and theological, not political.
We Are Not Teaching Legalism
We do not believe holiness earns salvation or favour with God. The Christian life flows from grace, not law-keeping.
We Are Not Anti-Church or Anti-Tradition
We affirm the importance of the local church and respect the broader history of faithful Christian witness, while remaining accountable to Scripture alone.
Statement on Antisemitism and Gospel Love
Our Conviction
The Anchor Gospel Ministry unequivocally rejects antisemitism in all forms, historical, theological, cultural, or political. Hatred or mistreatment of Jewish people is incompatible with the gospel of Jesus Christ.
Biblical Foundation
The Jewish people are uniquely connected to God’s redemptive purposes in history. Though salvation is found only in Christ, God’s covenantal promises to Israel remain intact and will be fulfilled according to His Word.
The rejection of antisemitism is not optional—it flows directly from the character of God, the authority of Scripture and the command to love our neighbour
The Gospel and the Jewish People
We affirm that Jewish people, like all people, are loved by God and invited to salvation through faith in Jesus Christ, the promised Messiah. Gospel witness must always be carried out with truth, humility, compassion, and respect.
What We Reject
We reject:
- Hatred or slander of Jewish people
- Theological systems that blame or condemn Jewish people collectively
- Violence, discrimination, or hostility of any kind
- Misuse of Scripture to justify prejudice
Our Commitment
We commit to:
- Teaching biblical truth with clarity and love
- Opposing antisemitism wherever it appears
- Encouraging prayer for Jewish people
- Proclaiming Christ faithfully, without coercion or hostility
True biblical theology produces humility, love, and reverence for God’s faithfulness.
“This hope we have as an anchor of the soul, a hope both sure and steadfast…”
