Nathan Andrew Hughes was born in Wrexham, United Kingdom, on March 29, 1994. He is a British author and preacher recognized for his contributions to conservative Christian literature. Raised in Wrexham, Nathan spent his formative years in his hometown. Until the age of fourteen, he identified as non-religious and was skeptical of all forms of faith.
In 2008, amid a challenging period in his life, Nathan began attending his local Anglican church, where he soon became actively engaged in the congregation. This experience proved transformative, marking a pivotal moment in his adolescence when he discovered a deeper sense of purpose through his Christian experience. During his teenage years, he embraced an Anglo-Catholic outlook that shaped his spiritual and literary pursuits.
In 2012, he was invited to attend an event at the local Baptist Chapel in Llay, Wrexham, where he encountered teachings that profoundly challenged his existing beliefs. During this time, he came to understand that salvation is established in faith in Jesus Christ rather than on good works. In the weeks that followed, Nathan withdrew from attending both the Anglican and Roman Catholic churches to study the Scriptures and gain a clearer understanding of the biblical doctrine of salvation. Through this period of reflection, he realized that his previous faith had been rooted largely in good deeds and religious observances, and he came to recognize that he had not yet truly become a Christian.
On the morning of September 20, 2012, during a Bible study session with the pastor of his local Baptist church, Nathan committed his life to the Lord Jesus Christ. Following this, he publicly professed his faith through believer’s baptism on November 25, 2012, at Bethel Baptist Chapel in Llay, Wrexham.
In March 2023, Nathan married his Ghanaian wife, Abena. Together, they actively participate in fellowship with other believers in Wrexham and the surrounding area who share their commitment to the Gospel ministry. On October 15, 2023, Nathan was formally welcomed into the fellowship of Wrexham Gospel Hall, where he and his wife are now members of the Assembly. Nathan delivered his first sermon at the Gospel Hall on December 31, 2023.

What I Believe
I believe the Holy Scriptures of the Old Testament and New Testament are the inerrant, inspired, and infallible Word of God. God’s Word is the final authority for faith and life.
I believe there is only one God, and He has chosen to reveal Himself as God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit.
I believe man was created in the image of God and the sin of Adam (the first man) marred that image, creating an eternal divide between God and man. Every person is born in sin.
I believe the only way a person can have a true, forgiven relationship with God is through Jesus Christ’s sacrifice on the cross. Jesus was born of the Virgin Mary and conceived by the Holy Spirit. Jesus became man without ceasing to be God. Our right standing with God is made sure because of His literal, physical resurrection.
I believe in the literal, physical return of Jesus to judge the living and the dead.
I believe God offers eternal life as a free gift to all mankind and that it must be received by faith alone through God’s grace alone. The life that comes from this gift is a permanent possession of the one receiving it.
I believe the church of the Lord Jesus Christ is a local body of believers on mission to enlarge God’s kingdom. The local church is autonomous, free of any external authority of control.
I believe believer’s baptism and the Lord’s Supper are the two ordinances of the church.
The Apostles’ Creed
I affirm the words of “The Apostles Creed.”
I believe in God, the Father almighty,
creator of heaven and earth.
I believe in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord,
who was conceived by the Holy Spirit,
born of the Virgin Mary,
suffered under Pontius Pilate,
was crucified, died, and was buried;
he descended to the dead.
On the third day he rose again;
he ascended into heaven,
he is seated at the right hand of the Father,
and he will come to judge the living and the dead.
I believe in the Holy Spirit,
the holy *catholic Church,
the communion of saints,
the forgiveness of sins,
the resurrection of the body,
and the life everlasting.
Amen.
* The “catholic Church” mentioned here is not the Roman Catholic Church, but the world-wide body of believers (the universal church).
