Not 1,000 posts for applause, 1,000 posts for Christ.
Today marks a milestone I never could have reached in my own strength, the 1,000th post on The Anchor Gospel Ministry. When this ministry began, the goal was simple: remain faithful to Christ, steadfast in Scripture, and immovable in the proclamation of the gospel. What I did not anticipate was the kindness of God in sustaining the work, sharpening the message, and allowing the ministry to grow far beyond its earliest beginnings.
The name The Anchor Gospel Ministry was chosen deliberately. Christ is the Anchor of our souls, unchanging, unshakable, immovable, eternal. In a world of drifting ideologies, unstable foundations, and shifting cultural tides, our ministry exists to declare and defend this truth: Jesus Christ is Lord, the gospel is the power of God unto salvation, and Scripture alone is our final authority.
A Ministry of the Word
Each post published has served as one brick laid in the same direction, toward Christ, toward truth, toward gospel clarity. Whether the subject has been biblical word studies, theology and doctrine, church history, Christian living, apologetics, devotional exposition, reviews of Christian literature or reflections on Scripture the aim has never changed: to anchor the reader in the gospel, fortify believers with truth, and exalt Christ above all else.
If these posts have strengthened your faith, clarified a doctrine, stirred your heart toward holiness, or opened your eyes to the glory of Christ, then the ministry has fulfilled its calling, not perfectly, but sincerely.
The Cost of Faithfulness
A ministry centred on truth will always draw both encouragement and opposition. We live in a time when Biblical conviction is often labelled intolerance, doctrinal precision is dismissed as divisive, gospel exclusivity is considered outdated, faithfulness is mistaken for harshness and truth is judged by feelings rather than Scripture.
Yet, if there is one lesson 1,000 posts have confirmed, it is this: Christ does not need message adjustment, He needs message proclamation. The gospel is not improved when softened; it is empowered when declared.
Gratitude for God’s Provision
I give thanks today for the Spirit of God, who illuminates truth, the Word of God, which never returns void, the Son of God, who is worthy of all proclamation, the providence of God, which sustains every labour done for His glory and the people of God, who pray, read, share, and stand with the ministry.
To every reader, encourager, and prayer warrior who has supported this work, thank you. The labour of ministry is never a solo endeavour. You have been partakers in the work simply by receiving the Word with sincerity.
Looking Ahead
A 1,000th post is not a finish line; it is a fresh commission. If the Lord permits, the next 1,000 will continue to carry the same heartbeat Christ proclaimed, truth unaltered, Scripture honoured, the gospel unashamed and souls anchored in Him.
My prayer is that The Anchor Gospel Ministry would continue to be a lighthouse for the lost, a doctrinal compass for the confused, a source of encouragement for believers and a testimony that Christ is the only true Anchor.
Soli Deo Gloria
To God alone be the glory.
Anchored in Him,
Nathan A. Hughes
