“And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people. For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord.” – Luke 2:10-11
The first announcement of Christ’s birth did not come to kings or rulers but to lowly shepherds in the fields. The angel’s words were filled with joy and hope: “Fear not.” In Christ, fear is replaced with joy, and despair is replaced with hope. The angel declared that the good news was for all people.
At Christmas, we are reminded that no one is too insignificant or too far gone to be reached by God’s love. The shepherds were ordinary, overlooked men, yet they were the first to hear the greatest message ever spoken. The Savior has come, Christ the Lord! This was not just for them, but for all the world, including you and me.
The message of Christmas is not meant to be a seasonal tradition but a lifelong reality: joy, peace, and salvation through Jesus Christ.
Ask God to fill you with the joy of His salvation and to help you share that joy with someone who may feel overlooked this Christmas.
