“Therefore the Lord himself shall give you a sign; Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel.” – Isaiah 7:14

Long before Bethlehem, God’s promise echoed through the ages. In a world broken by sin, humanity’s greatest need was not wealth, power, or human wisdom, it was redemption. Through Isaiah, God revealed that a miraculous sign would come: a virgin would conceive and bring forth a Son. His name would be Immanuel, which means God with us.

This verse shows us two important truths. First, God always keeps His promises. From Genesis to Revelation, every word He has spoken comes to pass. Second, this promise reveals God’s heart, He does not remain distant from His people, but He enters into their brokenness to bring salvation. The birth of Christ is God Himself stepping into human history to fulfill His eternal plan.

Christmas begins with a promise kept. Every twinkling light, every carol sung, every manger scene reminds us that God is faithful, and His Word never fails.

Thank God for His faithfulness and ask Him to help you stand on His promises, even when you cannot yet see their fulfillment.
