The Wedding at Cana

1. And on the third day a wedding took place in Cana of Galilee, and the mother of Jesus was there.
2. And Jesus also was invited, and His disciples, to the wedding.
3. And when the wine lacked, the mother of Jesus says to Him, “They have no wine.”
4. And Jesus says to her, “What is this to me and to you, woman? My hour has not yet come.”
5. His mother says to the servants, “Whatever He says to you, do it.”
6. Now there were standing there six stone water-jars, according to the cleansing rites of the Jews, each holding two or three measures.
7. Jesus says to them, “Fill the jars with water,” and they filled them up to the brim.
8. And He says to them, “Draw some out now and carry it to the master of the feast,” and they carried it.
9. And when the master of the feast tasted the water which had become wine, and did not know from where it was (but the servants who had drawn the water knew), the master of the feast calls the bridegroom.
10. And he says to him, “Every man first sets out the good wine, and when they have drunk freely, the inferior; you have kept the good wine until now.”
11. This, the beginning of the signs, Jesus did in Cana of Galilee, and manifested His glory, and His disciples believed in Him.
12. After this He went down to Capernaum He, and His mother, and His brothers, and His disciples and they remained there not many days.

Jesus Cleanses the Temple

13. And the Passover of the Jews was near, and Jesus went up to Jerusalem.
14. And He found in the temple those selling oxen and sheep and doves, and the money-changers sitting.
15. And after making a whip from cords, He drove all of them out of the temple, both the sheep and the oxen, and He poured out the coins of the money-changers and overturned the tables.
16. And to those selling doves He said, “Take these things away; do not make the house of my Father a house of trade.”
17. His disciples remembered that it is written, “Zeal for Your house will consume me.”
18. Then the Jews answered and said to Him, “What sign do You show to us, because You do these things?”
19. Jesus answered and said to them, “Destroy this temple, and in three days I will raise it.”
20. Then the Jews said, “In forty-six years this temple was built, and will You raise it in three days?”
21. But He was speaking about the temple of His body.
22. Therefore when He was raised from the dead, His disciples remembered that He had said this, and they believed the Scripture and the word which Jesus had spoken.

Many Believe in His Name

23. And when He was in Jerusalem at the Passover, at the feast, many believed in His name when they saw His signs which He was doing.
24. But Jesus Himself did not entrust Himself to them, because He knew all men.
25. And because He had no need that anyone should testify about man, for He knew what was in man.
