Brotherly Love and Conduct
Let brotherly love continue.
Do not forget hospitality, for through it some, having entertained angels, unwittingly.
Remember prisoners, as if you were in bonds with them, and those mistreated, since also you are in the body.
Respect and Purity
Let marriage be honoured among all, and let the bed be undefiled, for God will judge the sexually immoral and adulterers.
Let your conduct be without covetousness, being content with what you have; for He Himself said, “I will never leave you nor forsake you.”
So that we confidently say, “The Lord is my helper; I will not fear. What shall man do to me?”
Obedience and Leadership
Remember your leaders, those who spoke to you the word of God; considering the outcome of their conduct, imitate their faith.
Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever.
Do not be carried away by strange teachings; for it is good that the heart be established by grace, not by foods, through which those who walked were not profited.
Sacrifice and Praise
We have an altar from which those who serve the tent have no right to eat.
For the bodies of those animals, whose blood is brought into the holy place by the high priest for sin, are burned outside the camp.
Therefore Jesus also, that He might sanctify the people through His own blood, suffered outside the gate.
So let us go to Him outside the camp, bearing His reproach.
For we do not have here a lasting city, but we seek the one to come.
Through Him, then, let us continually offer up a sacrifice of praise to God, that is, the fruit of lips confessing His name.
Practical Exhortations
And do not neglect doing good and sharing; for with such sacrifices God is pleased.
Obey your leaders and submit to them, for they watch over your souls as those who will give an account; let them do this with joy, not groaning, for this would be unprofitable for you.
Pray for us, for we are confident that we have a good conscience, desiring to act honourably in all things.
But I exhort you the more earnestly to do this, that I may be restored to you the sooner.
Final Greetings and Benediction
Now may the God of peace, who brought up from the dead the great Shepherd of the sheep through the blood of the eternal covenant, our Lord Jesus,
equip you in every good thing to do His will, working in us that which is pleasing before Him, through Jesus Christ, to whom be glory forever and ever. Amen.
And I exhort you, brethren, bear with this word of exhortation, for I have written to you briefly.
Know that our brother Timothy has been released; if he comes soon, I will see you with him.
Greet all your leaders and all the saints. Those from Italy greet you.
Grace be with you all. Amen.
