God’s Final Speech in the Son

1. God, who at many times and in many ways spoke in time past to the fathers by the prophets,
2. in these last days spoke to us in a Son, whom He appointed heir of all things, through whom also He made the worlds;
3. who, being the radiance of the glory and the exact imprint of His essence, and upholding all things by the word of His power, having made purification of sins, sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high;
4. having become as much superior to the angels as the name He has inherited is more excellent than theirs.

The Son Superior to Angels

5. For to which of the angels did He ever say, “You are My Son; today I have begotten You”? And again, “I will be to Him a Father, and He shall be to Me a Son”?
6. And again, when He brings the Firstborn into the world, He says, “And let all God’s angels worship Him.”
7. And to the angels He says, “The one making His angels spirits, and His ministers a flame of fire.”
8. But to the Son: “Your throne, O God, is forever and ever, and the scepter of uprightness is the scepter of Your kingdom.
9. You loved righteousness and hated lawlessness; because of this God, Your God, anointed You with the oil of gladness beyond Your companions.”

10. And, “You, Lord, in the beginning laid the foundation of the earth, and the heavens are works of Your hands;
11. they will perish, but You remain; and all will grow old like a garment,
12. and like a cloak You will roll them up, and like a garment they will be changed. But You are the same, and Your years will not cease.”

The Son Enthroned

13. And to which of the angels has He ever said, “Sit at My right hand until I make Your enemies a footstool for Your feet”?
14. Are they not all ministering spirits being sent out for service for the sake of those who are about to inherit salvation?
