Exhortations to Joy and Unity

Therefore, my beloved brethren, whom I love and long for, my joy and crown, stand firm in the Lord, my beloved.

I urge Euodia and I urge Syntyche to agree in the Lord.

And I ask you also, true companion, help these women who have laboured with me in the gospel, together with Clement and the rest of my fellow workers, whose names are in the book of life.

Rejoice in the Lord

Rejoice in the Lord always; again I will say, rejoice.

Let your gentleness be known to all men. The Lord is near.

Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God.

And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

Focus on What Is Good

Finally, brethren, whatever is true, whatever is honourable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence and if anything worthy of praise, think on these things.

The things you have learned and received and heard and seen in me, practice these things, and the God of peace will be with you.

Gratitude for Support

I rejoiced greatly in the Lord that now at last you have revived your concern for me; indeed, you were concerned before, but you lacked opportunity.

Not that I speak from need, for I have learned in whatever state I am to be content.

I know both how to be humbled, and I know how to abound; in any and every circumstance I have learned the secret of both to be full and to be hungry, to abound and to suffer need.

I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.

Yet you have done well in sharing in my affliction.

And you yourselves know, Philippians, that in the beginning of the gospel, when I departed from Macedonia, no assembly shared with me in the matter of giving and receiving except you only.

For even in Thessalonica you sent once and again for my need.

Not that I seek the gift itself, but I seek the fruit that increases to your account.

But I have received all things, and I abound; I am full, having received from Epaphroditus the things sent from you, a fragrant offering, an acceptable sacrifice, pleasing to God.

And my God will supply every need of yours according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus.

Now to our God and Father be the glory forever and ever. Amen.

Final Greetings

Greet every saint in Christ Jesus. The brethren who are with me greet you.

All the saints greet you, especially those of Caesar’s household.

The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ be with your spirit. Amen.
