Imitators of God

Therefore be imitators of God, as beloved children;
and walk in love, as also Christ loved us and gave himself up for us, an offering and a sacrifice to God for a fragrant aroma.

The Life of Light

But sexual immorality, and all impurity or covetousness, let it not even be named among you, as is proper among saints;
also filthiness, and foolish talking, or jesting, the things not fitting, but rather thanksgiving;
For this you know with certainty, that every immoral or impure person, or one who is covetous (that is an idolater), has no inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and God.
Let no one deceive you with empty words, for because of these things comes the wrath of God upon the sons of disobedience.
Therefore do not become partakers with them;
For you were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord; walk as children of light,
(for the fruit of the light is in all goodness and righteousness and truth)
trying to learn what is well-pleasing to the Lord.
And do not participate in the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather even expose them.
For it is shameful even to speak of the things which are done by them in secret.
But all things when they are exposed by the light are made manifest, for everything which is made manifest is light.
For this reason, he says, “Awake, O sleeper, and arise from the dead, and Christ will shine on you.”

Living by the Spirit

Therefore be careful how you walk, not as unwise, but as wise;
making the most of the time, because the days are evil.
Therefore do not be foolish, but understand what the will of the Lord is.
And do not get drunk with wine, in which is dissipation; but be filled with the Spirit;
speaking to one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord;
giving thanks always for all things in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ to God, even the Father;
submitting yourselves one to another in the fear of Christ.

Wives and Husbands

Wives, be subject to your own husbands, as to the Lord.
For the husband is head of the wife as Christ also is head of the assembly, he himself being Saviour of the body.
But as the assembly is subject to Christ, so also the wives to their own husbands in everything.
Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the assembly and gave himself up for her;
that he might sanctify her, having cleansed her by the washing of water with the word,
that he might present the assembly to himself in splendour, not having spot or wrinkle or any such thing, but that she should be holy and without blemish.
So ought husbands to love their own wives as their own bodies: he who loves his wife loves himself.
For no man ever hated his own flesh, but nourishes and cherishes it, even as the Lord the assembly;
because we are members of his body, of his flesh, and of his bones.
“For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and shall be joined to his wife, and the two shall be one flesh.”
This mystery is great; but I speak concerning Christ and the assembly.
Nevertheless, let each one of you in particular, let each his own wife so love as himself; and the wife, that she may reverence her husband.
