Hagar, an Egyptian servant, felt abandoned and unseen as she fled into the wilderness. Yet in that lonely place, God met her. She realized that even in her pain, He had never overlooked her. She called Him El Roi, “the God who sees me.” Genesis 16:13 says, “Then she called the name of the Lord who spoke to her, “You are a God who sees”; for she said, “Have I even remained alive here after seeing Him?”

We, too, can feel invisible at times, overlooked by people, forgotten in our struggles, or hidden in our pain. But El Roi reminds us that God sees every tear, every step, and every unspoken need. His eyes are not distant; they are filled with love, compassion, and understanding.

When you feel unseen or insignificant, remember that El Roi knows your heart. He sees you at work, in your home, in your struggles, and in your victories. Instead of seeking validation only from others, rest in the truth that your worth is already established by the God who sees you fully and loves you deeply.

Today let us pray. El Roi, thank You that I am never hidden from Your sight. Help me find peace in knowing You see me, care for me, and walk with me even when others do not. Amen.
