Introduction

Paul, an apostle, not from men nor through man, but through Jesus Christ and God the Father, the One having raised Him from the dead,

and all the brothers with me, to the churches of Galatia:

Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ,

who gave Himself for our sins so that He might deliver us out of the present evil age, according to the will of our God and Father,

to whom be the glory from age to age. Amen.

There Is No Other Gospel

I marvel that you are so quickly turning away from the One who called you by the grace of Christ to a different gospel,

which is not another, except there are some who are troubling you and wanting to distort the gospel of Christ.

But even if we, or an angel from heaven, should preach a gospel to you contrary to the one we preached to you, let him be accursed.

As we have said before, even now again I say: if anyone is preaching to you a gospel contrary to the one you received, let him be accursed.

Paul’s Defence of the Gospel and His Ministry

For am I now seeking the approval of men, or of God? Or am I striving to please men? If I were still pleasing men, I would not be a servant of Christ.

For I make known to you, brothers, that the gospel that was preached by me is not according to man.

For neither did I receive it from man, nor was I taught it, but through a revelation of Jesus Christ.

For you heard of my former manner of life in Judaism, that I was persecuting the assembly of God beyond measure and was destroying it,

and I was advancing in Judaism beyond many of my own age among my nation, being exceedingly zealous for the traditions of my fathers.

But when it pleased God, the One having set me apart from my mother’s womb and having called me through His grace,

to reveal His Son in me so that I might preach Him among the Gentiles, I did not immediately consult with flesh and blood,

nor did I go up to Jerusalem to those who were apostles before me, but I went away into Arabia and returned again to Damascus.

Paul’s Early Ministry and Recognition

Then after three years I went up to Jerusalem to become acquainted with Cephas, and I stayed with him fifteen days.

But I did not see any of the other apostles except James, the brother of the Lord.

Now in what I am writing to you, behold, before God, I do not lie.

Then I went into the regions of Syria and Cilicia.

And I was still unknown by face to the assemblies of Judea that are in Christ.

But they only were hearing that “the one formerly persecuting us now is preaching the faith which once he was destroying.”

And they were glorifying God because of me.
