Deuteronomy 33:27 says, “The eternal God is a dwelling place, And underneath are the everlasting arms; And He drove out the enemy from before you, And said, ‘Destroy!’”
The name El Olam means The Everlasting God. It reminds us that while everything in this world changes, fades, and eventually ends, God remains the same, unchanging and eternal. Abraham first called on El Olam in Genesis 21:33 after experiencing God’s faithfulness and provision. In that moment, he recognized that God’s promises are not bound by time.
We live in a fast-moving world where circumstances shift quickly; jobs change, friendships drift, health fades, and seasons come and go. In the midst of uncertainty, El Olam is a steady anchor. He sees the beginning and the end at once, and His plans are not undone by the temporary struggles we face.
When you feel anxious about the future or discouraged by your present circumstances, remember that you serve El Olam, the Everlasting God. He is already in your tomorrow, and His love and power will never wear out. Take time today to surrender your worries to Him in prayer. Trust that the God who has carried generations before you will carry you too and His everlasting arms will never fail.
Today let us pray this. Lord, thank You that You are El Olam, the Everlasting God. When I feel overwhelmed by change, remind me that You remain the same yesterday, today, and forever. Help me to trust Your eternal plan and rest in Your unfailing arms. Amen.
