In the final vision of Ezekiel, the prophet sees a restored city where God’s presence dwells among His people. The city is given a new name: Jehovah Shammah — “The Lord is there.” This was more than a title; it was a promise. Though Israel had experienced judgment and exile, God assured them that His presence would one day return, bringing restoration and hope.

Today, as followers of Christ, we don’t need to travel to a temple or holy city to encounter God’s presence. Through Jesus, Emmanuel “God with us”, Jehovah Shammah is a reality in our daily lives. He is there when we are joyful, and He is there when we are brokenhearted. He is there in our victories, and He is there in our struggles. His presence is not distant but indwelling through the Holy Spirit.

When you feel lonely, anxious, or overwhelmed, remember Jehovah Shammah. God’s presence is not a future hope only, it is your present reality. Whisper a prayer: “Lord, thank You that You are here with me.” Let this truth guide your choices, steady your heart, and remind you that you are never abandoned. His presence is your greatest source of strength, peace, and courage.

Today let us pray this. Jehovah Shammah, thank You that You are always near. Teach me to live in the confidence of Your presence and to find my rest and strength in You each day. Amen.
