At the cross of Christ mercy and grace meet
Poor and wretched sinners bow at His feet
O’ come to the cross and the Saviour, greet
All our griefs and sorrows He bears,
All our sufferings and many fears
All for love’s sake, the crown of thrones He wore
All fear and every tear
Is driven away
When Christ is near, He is a tower of hope
And gives strength to cope
This poor and weak sinner, forgiven
Made a child of Heaven
In the book of life, my name written
To new life, awaken
