Charles Thomas Studd, commonly referred to as C. T. Studd (2 December 1860 – 16 July 1931), was a British missionary, a contributor to The Fundamentals, and a cricketer. As a British Anglican Christian missionary in China, he was a member of the Cambridge Seven and later established the Heart of Africa Mission, which evolved into the Worldwide Evangelisation Crusade (now known as WEC International). In his cricket career, he represented England in the 1882 match that Australia won—marking the beginning of The Ashes. A poem he penned, “Only One Life, ‘Twill Soon Be Past,” has gained popularity among many who do not know its author.
