The Messianic Kingdom is a time when Christ will return to the earth to establish His kingdom of universal peace. When Christ returns in glory He will defeat His enemies and bind Satan for one thousand years. Christ will also judge the remaining inhabitants of the earth. The messianic kingdom will be ruled by the Lord Jesus Christ. Acts 3:21 says, “whom heaven must receive until the period of restoration of all things about which God spoke by the mouth of His holy prophets from ancient time.” Before Christ was born the future Messianic Kingdom was foretold. Luke 1:32-33 says, “He will be great and will be called the Son of the Most High; and the Lord God will give Him the throne of His father David; and He will reign over the house of Jacob forever, and His kingdom will have no end.” Jesus preached often about the future kingdom. Matthew 25:31 says, “But when the Son of Man comes in His glory, and all the angels with Him, then He will sit on His glorious throne.”

The future Kingdom will be a worldwide kingdom. The prophet Daniel spoke of the kingdom of the Messiah as a large mountain that will fill the whole world (Daniel 2:35). The Messianic Kingdom will be a time of blessing. The Bible teaches that the Messiah will bring worldwide peace during the Messianic Kingdom (Isa. 11:6-7, Micah 4:3). The Messianic Kingdom will also be a time of earth’s restoration. The curse of on the earth will cease during this time (Isa. 11:6-9, 35:1-2, and 35:7).

During the Messianic Kingdom the words of Paul in Romans 11:26 will come true, “All Israel will be saved.” The Jews will be regathered to the Promise Land. Israel will regain all the land the God gave to them. The boundaries prophesied in Jeremiah 31:1-14, Amos 9:11-15 and Joshua 1:4 will finally be established. Israel will experience a revived Davidic Kingdom and the division of Israel and Judah will cease. The nation will be united (Jeremiah 3:18).  The Messianic Kingdom will be like nothing the world has ever seen before. It will be a kingdom of peace on earth and of justice ruled by the King of kings and Lord of lords.
