Throughout Scripture we read about God meeting the needs of His people. We especially see this in the Old Testament when He meets the needs of the children of Israel. In Zechariah 2:8 the Bible says, “For thus says the Lord of hosts, “After glory He has sent Me against the nations which plunder you, for he who touches you, touches the apple of His eye.”
We first read the name El Shaddai in Genesis 17:1 when God appeared to Abram and told him to walk blameless before Him. God revealed Himself as, “I am El Shaddai,” God Almighty. This Hebrew name refers to God completely nourishing, satisfying and supplying His people with all their needs.
Not everyone is blessed with good and loving earthly parents. For those who have been blessed with good parents they will know that their parents would do anything and everything possible to meet the needs of their child. Our Heavenly Father is just like that; He will do whatever it takes to meet the needs of His children. God is our sustainer in this life. There are things in life that earthly parents cannot do for us and only God can fulfilled that need.
In Christ our sins are paid for and we are set free from the condemnation of sin. In Christ we have an eternal hope and joy. In Christ we have an advocate with the Father. In Christ we have peace with God.
Because our God is almighty nothing is too hard for Him. God is concerned about every aspect of our life. There is no problem or concern that is too big or too small for God.
We serve a great God who has said, “My grace is sufficient for you, for power is perfected in weakness” (2 Corinthians 12:9). Today let us thank God for meeting and supplying all our needs.
