The chief benefit of Christ’s resurrection is that believers shall be raised in glory. Philippians 3:20-21 says, “For our citizenship is in heaven, from which also we eagerly wait for a Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ; who will transform the body of our humble state into conformity with the body of His glory, by the exertion of the power that He has even to subject all things to Himself.” Our bodies that are subject to sin and diseases will be transformed. At our resurrection, our bodies shall be made most healthy, strong, immortal and most glorious like unto Christ’s body.
We shall see the completion of our salvation. Our sorrows in this life will be turned into joy. Our suffering in this body will cease. We shall see our Lord and Saviour face to face. Job 19:25-27 says, ““As for me, I know that my Redeemer lives, And at the last He will take His stand on the earth. “Even after my skin is destroyed, Yet from my flesh I shall see God; Whom I myself shall behold, And whom my eyes will see and not another. My heart faints within me!”
What a glorious truth we have before us. We shall be acknowledged in Heaven by the King of kings and we shall be called by name. It is such an amazing blessing that King Jesus knows you by name. Just pause for a moment and consider this. How would you feel if an earthly King knew you by name? Just imagine if HM King Charles III called you by your name.
Our focus in life is to honor God and to bring Him glory in all that we say and do. This purpose for life is primarily realized at the conclusion of our earthly existence. Today, let’s reflect on why those who believe should anticipate the day we unite with the Lord and explore how we can effectively serve Him during our time on earth.
