And Micaiah said, “Therefore, hear the word of the LORD. I saw the LORD sitting on His throne, and all the host of heaven standing by Him on His right and on His left.

1 Kings 22:19

The Word of God guides, instructs, and indicates to individuals how to honour God. Psalm 103:21 states, “Bless the Lord, all you His hosts, You who serve Him, doing His will.” It is essential for God to disclose the means of glorifying Him. The Bible provides teachings on how to exalt and reverence Him. Christians should cherish the Scriptures in their hearts, minds, and souls. Psalm 119:11 proclaims, “Thy word I have treasured in my heart, That I may not sin against Thee.” Without the Scriptures, one cannot comprehend how to worship or serve Him faithfully. Therefore, it is imperative to read, understand, memorise, and follow the teachings of Scripture.

A good understanding of essential biblical teachings is vital for leading a steadfast and honourable Christian life. The Holy Scriptures hold immense significance as they are the means by which God has revealed Himself. The Bible instructs us on what is deemed right and wrong in the eyes of God. Hebrews 4:12 states, “For the word of God is living and active and sharper than any two-edged sword, and piercing as far as the division of soul and spirit, of both joints and marrow, and able to judge the thoughts and intentions of the heart.” There is no other book on earth comparable to the Holy Bible. The 66 books it comprises is the complete canon of God’s truth presented to humankind. No other written work originates from God. As stated in 2 Peter 1:21, “for no prophecy was ever made by an act of human will, but men moved by the Holy Spirit spoke from God.” The will and mind of God can be discerned through the study, meditation, and belief in the teachings of the Holy Bible.

Queen Victoria stated that the Bible is the foundation of England’s dominance globally. She asserted that the prosperity of the nation stemmed from its adherence to the God of Holy Scripture. Proverbs 14:34 articulates, “Righteousness exalts a nation, But sin is a disgrace to any people.” Furthermore, it is noteworthy to reflect on the words of Victor Hugo, the French author, who remarked, “England has two books, the Bible and Shakespeare. While England produced Shakespeare, it was the Bible that shaped England.”

“Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord, The people whom He has chosen for His own inheritance.” as stated in Psalm 33:12. The Word of God is truthful in all its affirmations. By this assertion, I refer to the fact that Scripture includes the spoken words of the devil, as illustrated in the account of Christ’s temptation. While the Bible accurately documents the words of the devil, they are inherently false. Similarly, when King Herod commanded the slaughter of children, the Bible does not endorse his heinous acts but rather provides a historical account of the event. Draw near to God, for He is the light necessary in this world filled with sin and sorrow. A genuine relationship with the living God is the sole path to authentic and enduring happiness and joy.
