Today is a race day. No doubt you will be betting on your favourite horse and hoping to win big. You are prepared to gamble away your hard earned money. Let me enlighten you with a little wisdom from the Holy Bible. Mark 8:36 says, For what will it profit a man if he gains the whole world, and loses his own soul?” What good will it be if you gain all that this world has to offer, if you die in your sins and perish? It is time to think about what really matters. It does not matter if you win or lose at the races. It does matter if you lose your soul!

1 Timothy 6:10 says, For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil, for which some have strayed from the faith in their greediness, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.” Many people have sorrow today because they are chasing after money and pleasure. Money cannot make you happy, only God can.

Psalm 20:7 says, “Some trust in chariots, and some in horses; But we will remember the name of the Lord our God.” Don’t trust in horses, trust in Christ. He can give you more joy than horses and money. Above all He can set you free from your sin and cancel your debt to Him. So repent and trust in Christ.

Everyone needs salvation because we have all sinned.

Romans 3:23 says, “for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.

Consequences of sin is death both physical and spiritual in Hell.

Romans 6:23 says, “For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.”

Jesus Christ paid the price for sin on the Cross.

Romans 5:8 says, “But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.”

We receive eternal life & forgiveness of sin through faith in Jesus.

Romans 10:9-10 says that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.”

Ephesians 2:8-9 says, “For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God,

not of works, lest anyone should boast.

Hold your horses and back the winner. In the end. God wins!
