As I come before the table of the Lord

I come confessing my unrighteousness to Him

I think of Christ’s last days on earth

And thank Him for His love

As I hold the bread of life

I think of His body

Broken, batter and bruised, for me

I thank the Lord for His grace

I think of His aching heart as they mocked

The sinless Messiah, so free from sin

I thank Him for His obedience to the Father

I thank the Lord for His mercy

I think of the nails, piercing His flesh

I tremble as I think, for me, He was crucified

I praise Him for His willingness to die in my place

May You be glorified for Your death on the cruel cross of Calvary,

As I hold the cup of suffering

I think of His soul cleansing blood

Shed, spilt and splatted for the remission of transgressions

I thank the Lamb of God for His cruel death

As I think of what Christ endured on that day

All the pain, guilt and shame

How He bore all my sorrows and nailed them to His cross in full

Hallelujah, glory be to Christ.
