TCR Themes: Self-exaltation 3194 Spiritual Knowledge 2023
In this brief study we will look at the topic of affirmation in two ways. Firstly, in relation to humility. Secondly, in our testimony as God’s people. Biblical affirmations are rooted in biblical truth and are wholly God-focused.
Humility is a realistic affirmation. (Luke 14:11).
When we affirm biblical truth we are not to exalt ourselves, but the truth of God’s word. This verse from Luke’s Gospel warns us that those who exalts themselves will be humbled by God. We can see that self-exaltation is folly. When we turn to 3194 in the TCR we are presented with the following Scriptures Pro. 17:9, 25:6-7,27, Isa. 14:13-14, Obad. 4, Mat. 23:12, Mark. 10:37.
Be affirming when correcting others. (1 Corinthians 1:4-6).
Paul encourages believers to affirm the truths of God in our lives. We are to be a testimony of God’s truth in our community. We are to affirm spiritual knowledge to others. When we turn to 2023 in our TCR we are given some Scriptures on the theme of Spiritual Knowledge. The cause for exultation is found in Jer. 9:24. This is obtained by acquaintance with God (Hos. 6:3).
