Thus says the LORD who made you And formed you from the womb, who will help you, `Do not fear, O Jacob My servant; And you Jeshurun whom I have chosen.

Killing of unborn children. Exodus 21:22-25, 2 Kings 8:12, Hosea 13:16

The Lord will send judgment on those who sacrifice their children. In Leviticus 18:21 the Lord commands that children are not offered to Molech. The god of human sacrifice is Moloch. 2 Kings 23:10 says, “He also defiled Topheth, which is in the valley of the son of Hinnom, that no man might make his son or his daughter pass through the fire for Molech.” Abortion is a modern form of child sacrifice. Rather than children being offered through the fire they are sacrificed on the altar of sexual pleasure, convenience, and selfishness. How can we help those who find themselves with an unwanted pregnancy?

Look to interest of others. Phil 2:4

Our Lord taught us to look for the interests of others. Rather than serving ourselves we are called to a life of service to others. If we promote abortion, then we cannot say we are looking out for the interests of others. Many will say they are because they are supporting the woman in her desire to end her pregnancy. However, what about the interest of the unborn child. Psalm 139:13 says, “For You formed my inward parts; You wove me in my mother’s womb.” The Bible teaches that from the moment of conception a human life is created and is of worth and ought to be protected. Proverbs 31:8 says, “Open your mouth for the mute, For the rights of all the unfortunate.” How can we promote the interests of others?

Personhood of the unborn. Psalm 51:5, 13

Even though a life may be created by sinful acts the life of the child is still of value. David confesses that fact here. All children are of value and fully human even inside the womb of their mother. How can we protect life?

Consciousness of the unborn. Luke 1:41-44

We learn from this text that the unborn are conscious of life and their surroundings. The Bible teaches that God is in control of life. Job 31:15 says, “Did not He who made me in the womb make him, And the same one fashion us in the womb?” What does the consciousness of the unborn teach about the preciousness of life?

Some Other Thoughts.
Life is for a purpose – Galatians 1:15 says, “But when God, who had set me apart even from my mother’s womb and called me through His grace, was pleased”
