Introverted, Intuitive, thinking and judging
The INTJ is one of the rarest personality types, but one of the most interesting. The INTJ mind is future future-focused, proactive, practical and logical. They are typical perfections and have a high standard to which they expect others to adhere. Therefore, most INTJs prefer to work alone. They are loners and find social interaction a challenge. They see the world as a large chess board which needs to be navigated, seeing the future possibility that needs logical thought to make sense of.
INTJs’ focus is on self-improvement and love to read, learn and ponder about making themselves better people and creating a better society and world. They often think about profound issues and topics. They can also take self-criticism well. They have a gifted minds, highly intelligent and hard-working.
This personality type makes up just 1.5% of the population. It is very uncommon in females only 0.8%. INTJ’s have a reputation of being cold and robotic but despite that, they do have the common good in mind when planning. They are complex people and thus have limited friends. One area of human relationships INTJs find hard is romantic relationships mainly because they approach romance like other relationships, a chess match. They often overthink situations.
INTJ values achievement and knowledge. They can be judgmental towards those who are overly emotional and see these people as weaker thinkers. One attribute of
INTJs that is a drawback is their approach to life. They can sometimes come across as boastful.
Famous INTJ’s
Augustus Caesar, Thomas Jefferson, Stephen Hawking, Dwight Eisenhower, Russell Crowe, Mark Zuckerburg, Friedrich Nietzsche, Isaac Newton, Nicola Tesla, Jane Austin, Karl Marx, Martin Luther, John Calvin, G.W.F Hegal, Ludwig Van Beethoven, and the most well known is Albert Einstein.
Myths
I. Judging – INTJ’s are not critical to be cruel. They will first perceive then process and base that judgment on wisdom and the facts.
II. Understanding people – They are not bad at reading people. They struggle to respond to social situations. They only react to things that interest them. They find small talk hard and talking about feelings.
III. Don’t have feelings – INTJs have a hard time expressing feelings. They do express themselves but in different ways.
IV. Very organised – In fact, INTJs are relaxed people. They just recall important dates and things better than others do. They get things done and meet deadlines.
V. Stubborn – They will admit they are wrong but only if it can be proven. Their ego is no bigger than anyone else. They are good at problem-solving.
Weakness
I. Disillusionment – INTJs are the highest percentage of people who report suffering from depression. They also have high-stress levels.
II. Romance – INTJs search for like-minded people and approach romantic relationships much like a job interview. They will not invest much into a partner until they can see serious potential. Social connections do not come naturally to INTJs.
III. Non-conformity – They will not respect a position of power or authority just for the sake of it. INTJs view respect as earned and not handed freely. They are independent thinkers and often feel out of place. They find it hard to relate to others. INTJs can be direct and will not sugarcoat the delivery of the truth as they see it. This means they will easily offend people. They also have a very dark sense of humour. INTJs will often bury themselves in work and plan for the future.
Dislikes of INTJ’s
I. Literal – “I will call you sometime today” is not a phrase the INTJ likes to hear. Tell them the time you will call and keep to the time.
II. Rules – Rules must be based on logical reasons, “because I said so” is not good enough. Details in all things matter to the INTJ.
III. Dislike interruption – When an INTJ is interpreted they will think that what they have to say is not important or the other person is just not listening.
IV. On the spot – Give and pencil and paper to an INTJ and they will be able to express ideas and thoughts very well. Give them the floor and the spot and they will fall apart.
V. Private – INTJs are private people. They do not like too many questions and will only give information that is important or necessary. Asking personal questions to INTJs is not an easy topic.
